The Vaus Family spent May-December 2004 living and working in Ireland with Douglas Gresham, the step-son of C. S. Lewis, and his wife Merrie at Rathvinden Ministries in County Carlow. The Gresham's home, Rathvinden House, is a large, old, Irish country home with twelve bedrooms situated on twenty acres of wide lawns and ancient trees, including one of the oldest cedar trees in Ireland. The Greshams lived at Rathvinden House from 1993 to 2006 and ran a multi-faceted house ministry there including hospitality to people in full-time ministry, counseling and evangelism. While at Rathvinden the Vaus family participated in all aspects of the ministry including the leading of a weekly Bible study, teaching in C. S. Lewis seminars, counseling, evangelism, office management, cooking, cleaning, gardening, taking care of the chickens and the pig! The Vauses lived in a 400-year-old house known as The Narnia Cottage. |
