  • Why is the ministry called Will Vaus Ministries?
This nonprofit corporation was named by the original board of directors, not Will himself, who might have chosen another name. As it is, the general nature of the name of the ministry has allowed flexibility for Will to follow God's lead in various directions from year to year.

  • Why is the ministry slogan: Creatively Communicating the Love of Christ?
Creatively--because Will often uses drama and multimedia in his preaching and teaching. Communicating--because that is what God has called Will to do through preaching, teaching and writing. Love--because it is the greatest need of the human heart. Christ--because he is the embodiment of love.

  • What is Will's vision for ministry?
Will likes the way his friend, Douglas Gresham, answers that question: I don't have a vision for ministry other than obeying God! That said, Will believes God has called him to focus on three things: preaching, teaching and writing. He seeks to follow some simple but good advice given to him by Billy Graham: 1. Study all you can. 2. Preach whenever you can. 3. Practice to be simple. 4. Remember there is power in the quoted Scripture.

  • What does Will preach?
When Will was in seminary he had the privilege of meeting Norman Vincent Peale. When he asked Peale what advice he would have for a young preacher, Peale said: "Preach Jesus Christ and him crucified." That is what Will has sought to do ever since.

  • What is the Gospel?
The Gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-5).

  • How can I begin a relationship with Jesus?
It's as simple as A, B, C, D. A. Admit your sin. B. Believe in Christ. C. Confess your faith publicly. D. Decide to turn from your sin. If you would like to know more, contact Will and he would be glad to send you a booklet about Beginning Your Christian Life.

  • Why does Will focus so much on teaching about C. S. Lewis?
Because Lewis is Will's favorite Christian author outside of the Bible, and he has found Lewis's writings to be a great vehicle for communicating Christ to seekers.

  • What is Will's favorite C. S. Lewis book?
Whichever one he is reading at the moment! His all-time favorites are: "Mere Christianity", "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", "Till We Have Faces" and "Letters to Malcolm: Chiefly on Prayer".

  • How did Will get interested in C. S. Lewis?
Will's fourth grade teacher read "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" to his class. From there Will went on to read the rest of The Chronicles. Later on, Will's youth pastor, Sonny Salsbury, encouraged his reading of the rest of Lewis's works.
